What is Kahuna Massage?

This beautiful form of bodywork provides a holistic approach to healing and balancing the body-mind in its physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions. Kahuna bodywork is unique in a number of respects. The practitioner uses their hands, forearms and elbows and moves around the table (using flowing Hula and Tai Chi style moves) while working with energy and encouraging ‘Ha Breath’ applying deep tissue massage. Music is played and warm oil applied while the practitioner attunes to the flow of the massage to harmonise the various rhythms within the clients body-mind-soul.

What should I expect when I have a massage with you?

Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. Professional draping will always be practised to make sure that your comfort and security is respected at all times.

To gain the maximum benefit from the treatment, we recommend that you disrobe down to your underwear, preferably with your bra removed. However, if you prefer to wear your bra, please simply let me know before your massage begins.

We also request that you turn off any electronic devices so that you can get the maximum benefit of this "you" time.

What should I do to make the most of my massage?

We recommend that you have a light meal or snack before your treatment, avoid alcohol and hydrate well.

Post massage, we highly recommend that you continue your healing for the rest of the day, by relaxing, being aware of your breath and avoiding stress (where possible!).

So switch off the TV, read a book, listen to some of your favourite music and relax. Give your body and mind a chance to reset and let the treatment do its work. Avoid stimulants such as caffeine and sugar, and drink plenty of water in order to flush out any toxins that may have been released during your massage.
